Helen is located in Northeast Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains situated along the gorgeous headwaters of the Chattahoochee River. Alpine Helen is an international tourist attraction. The little mountain town is a re-created German village. There are over 200 specialty and import shops, restaurants, and hotels all having a German décor. There are many things to do and see when visiting Helen. You can visit the many fine restaurants and hotel/motel/ cabin accommodations. Helen is located just 2 hours northeast of Atlanta, off Interstate 985.

Tubing on the Chattahoochee River is big business here, along with fishing, canoeing, hiking, horse back riding, golf, camping, and just enjoying the surrounding mountains and waterfalls.

Octoberfest in Helen is one of the nation's largest celebrations and brings visitors in from around the world. It starts the last weekend in September and goes through the month of October. This is a great time to visit the area because the fall folliage is at its best this time of year.
